TURN OF EVENTS

TURN OF EVENTS, contains 13
songs which which were not written, but lived. " A journey I had traveled that
started in a good place and ended in a better place and a better man for having made the
journey." "When I sat down to put this project together I had an odd
mix of songs. I was trying to find a context in which they all related to each
other. I realized the connection between these songs was that they were moments,
feelings and experiences that had been my life over a period of time which was the
wonderful yet also most unusual period of my life. I realized what made this
whole project so special was that all the songs stemmed from the same source of
inspiration. It was quite a TURN OF EVENTS. This is the CD that is
going to put David Carter "on the map" as a prolific, polished songwriter.
This CD is truly David Carter's "coming out" as a songwriter and recording
artist. True to his recording concept which entitled, TWO HANDS ARE ENOUGH, David's
second CD. David does all the songwriting, instrumentation, arrangements, recording,
production from his own depth of talent. "When I write a song, I hear it all
in my head as it is written. The only way I can accurately create the song as I hear
it in my head is to do all the instrumentation myself."

This CD began as a "demo CD" requested by a
potential employer. David had no intention of making this disc available to the
public. However, quality of the recording convinced him to make this CD available on
a limited order basis. This CD truly shows the versatility of David's talent as a
performer, going from Johnny Cash to Dave Mathews and his uncanny ability to sound very
much like the artists whom he is covering on a particualar song. If you would like

Twenty of David's original songs, seventy-two
minutes of music. Two Hands Are Enough truly reveals the depth of his songwriting talents and
is the CD which got the attention of music critics and their appreciation for David's
talents as a songwriter, lamenting David with such quotes as: "If Virginia Beach were to name a songwriter laureate, no doubt it
would be homegrown David Carter." -
Victoria Hecht, Editor, Virginia Beach Sun Newspaper; "Youthful and simple, Carter is a storyteller... his
autobiographical lyrics show the common ground many of us share." - Eric Worden,
Port Folio Weekly; "If every
entity or area needs a spokesperson, David Carter would be a prime candidate for Virginia
Beach. The entire disc has a local flavor to it with references to the 15th street fishing
pier, Ocean Eddie's and having the girl of your dreams on the handle bar of your beach
cruiser." - Jack W. Waddell, Flash Magazine; "I played it at home and as soon as Carter's rich, lyrical voice
began, it was like a night out on Colley Avenue, or perhaps sitting on an ocean front deck
watching the waves roll in." - Sam
Martinette, Norfolk Compass Newspaper; "Singer-songwriter
David Carter is one of the friendliest, most laid-back people in the Hampton Roads music
community. Whether he's singing confessional heart break mode or engaging in Buffett style
breeziness, Carter makes enjoyable music."
- Sam MacDonald, Daily Press
Newspaper; "Maybe She's Right,'
'Cucumber Cucumber Boat,' 'Fish,' 'Champagne, 'Somewhere Under This Moon' and others read
like pages from his life. They all tell a tale of places he's been, people he's known and
emotions he's felt." - Jaqueline Ross,
Richmond Music Journal.

A WARM SUMMER NIGHT
(click picture below to order CD)

This is David's first recording released on CD.
It was recorded live on the rooftop of the ISLAND REPUBLIC on the Virginia Beach
oceanfront, where David was the regular performer for 12 years. This is a very relaxing
performance and collection of songs. During a performance in Wilmington,
NC, David was told by an UNCW student that they had nicknamed the CD "Songs To Get
Laid By." Although, some of the songs on this CD are also on LIVE @
LOWELL'S, 01/21/03 the performances are of much different nature between the two
live CDs. LIVE @ LOWELL'S, 01/21/03 is what might be called a
"power acoustic" performance, energy driven. A WARM SUMMER
NIGHT reflects an airy mood of friends sitting on the beach with a guitar
starring at the stars and the ocean, while sipping their favorite tropical beverage.
This is basically a cover song CD, with the exception of four of David's original
compositions.
